Practice assessments and learning support booklets
Practice assessments
Practice assessments have been provided to familiarise you with the content used in computer based tests (CBTs) and computer based projects (CBPs) for the revised Accounting Qualification.
Practice assessments are not designed to be used in isolation when determining whether you are ready for a live assessment. If you feel you are ready to sit a live assessment, you should speak to your tutor and training provider, who can advise you further.
Following feedback from students and training providers, we have been investigating ways we can reduce scrolling in the Financial Statements computer-based test. This has led us to develop a new version of the practice CBT 1 with popup windows for data in some key tasks. These can be placed anywhere a candidate likes in the assessment window. A link to a survey can be found at the end of the assessment, so please let us know if you like the new functionality.
We are committed to delivering additional practice materials by the end of September 2011. However, we have identified the following Level 4 assessments as priorities for immediate delivery: Financial Performance (FNPF), Financial Statements (FNST), Personal Tax (PTX) and Budgeting (BGT). These new assessments are in the list below as Practice 2 in each case, with model answers available.
In addition, there is now an interactive resource that provides guidance and advice on how you should approach the extended writing tasks in these assessments. Extended writing tasks are those questions that require you to provide a written answer, most often in section 2 of the assessments.
Study support
Study support booklets consist of past exams, simulations and chief assessor reports from the 2003/2006 standards. Learners studying the AAT revised Accountancy Qualification (launched July 2010) may find these materials a useful resource.
